88 tells Kyle that his father, Morgan Katarn, was killed by a Dark Jedi named Jerec. It all starts with a meeting with Kyle droid named 8t88 (or just ’88’) in the Nar Shaddaa. Jedi Knight launched a year after the events of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The plot of the game offers the player to take the role of Kyle Katarn, who first appeared as a mercenary in the Star Wars: Dark Forces (1995).
Jedi Knight also comprises rolls with live actors, which is fed through a large part of the plot. This is the first game in the series Dark Forces, which includes multiplayer, and the first game allowing players to control a Jedi, using the Force and lightsabers.
